A common title used in the karate arena is that of "Chief Instructor". Usually this is the title given to the most senior instructor in a specific group of karate practitioners following a common style and syllabus.

Although Taisho-Do's members are all karate practitioners, Taisho-Do is composed of a number of groups following different (but similar) syllabi.

Each of these groups have their own Chief Instructor. Taisho-Do aims to facilitate karate tuition not dictate it, so it would be inappropriate to have a C.I. for Taisho-Do.
